This valuable domain, first registered in 1993, has an interesting recent history. In 2023, it redirected to ChatGPT, with OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman reportedly bidding for it. The domain then briefly pointed to Elon Musk's xAI, and later to Google's Gemini chatbot.
For context, domain names in the AI space have been commanding high prices. In a related move, OpenAI recently purchased chat.com, which was previously owned by HubSpot co-founder Dharmesh Shah. While the exact price OpenAI paid remains undisclosed, the domain was earlier sold for $15.5 million.
